ABOUT & TARGET BENEFICIARIES

So far we have 100 widows taking part in this project. It has benefitted them and their children by enabling them to provide for themselves. We aim to target another 100 widows as well as youth in future.

PREVIOUS ACHIEVEMENTS
  • Assisted over 50 widows in setting up their own kitchen gardens
  • Improved food security for families in the areas
  • Provision of training and support to establish small-scale vegetable and fruit tree gardens.
  • Empowerment of widows to grow their own food and improve household nutrition.
PROJECT CHALLENGES
  • Insufficient funds to support the expansion of agricultural activities and provide necessary resources for widows and youth.
  • Difficulty in securing financial support for training, equipment, and infrastructure required for sustainable agriculture.
  • Challenges in implementing sustainable farming methods due to a lack of knowledge and skills.
  • Increased Land fragmentation that has resulted in smaller farms that making it difficult to implement efficient agricultural practices and maximize land productivity.
DESIRED OUTCOMES
  • Adoption of eco-friendly farming methods such as crop rotation, organic fertilization, and water conservation techniques.
  • Implementation of practices that enhance soil health and biodiversity, ensuring long-term productivity and environmental sustainability.
  • Increase food security among the widows and youth in the community by having improved access to nutritious food through increased agricultural productivity.
  • Reduced dependency on external food sources, leading to greater self-sufficiency and resilience to food shortages.
